Back To Black

Back to Black - Written by Amy Winehouse and producer Mark Ronson, this was the third single from the 2006 album of the same name - Winehouse's second and final album.

It was the first song that Ronson and Winehouse wrote together and it was the beginning of a productive relationship. Winehouse met Ronson in his studio in Mew York, told him of her love of The Shangri-Las and played him this song, which influenced the final sound of the track. The chords are strikingly similar also.

The song, and indeed most of the album was inspired by Winehouse’s temporary break-up with her boyfriend (with whom she later reconciled and married).

The album was the biggest-selling album of 2007, beating the High School Musical soundtrack into 2nd place.
